Beer Tasting

As the day went on our sun started to get covered by clouds.  As the people arrived we were deciding where to have the beer tasting, inside or outside.  We finally decided on eating inside and drinking by the fire pit.

I took my brisket off the pit. It had been smoking for 7 to 8 hours.  It looked beautiful.

After eating our brisket and several different salads that people had brought we headed downstairs to the backyard for the main reason we had come together.

As we put our chairs around the fire pit we could tell there were more clouds moving in. We had no rain drops yet though.

The flat ole hippies even stopped by to taste some beers.

Tom, our beermeister, picked from our big selection of beers from England, Scotland, Iceland, Oregon, and some local beer that was oak aged for 5 years.  As the evening progressed we started to feel some drops coming down but we went on.

We hung in there until it started to get dark.  We then had to move it into the house.DSC_0282DSC_0281

On the nineteenth beer we finally ended. It was one that we had brought back from Iceland that was made with whale testicles and smoked in sheep dung. It was a wonderful way to end the night.  Everyone started leaving around midnight with fun had by all.

Do any of you out there have a gathering like this? We do it about once a year and it is a great time.

Hope you weekend was as fun as ours?

  1. Ok, sorry but you had me all the way up to that last beer…whale testicles and sheep dung??? Uh, gross!!!
I hope your gathering was enjoyable and your brisket was yummy. Did anyone bring keto broccoli salad (I call it crack salad because it is sweet and delicious!)

    1. Actually the beer is really good. Everyone agreed and I had to make them try it. lol
The brisket turned out good. I made cauliflower salad which went over great. We like it as good as potato salad. It went over so good I am making for my husband’s potluck for the Anchorage concert chorus and for a wedding on Sept8.

You gave to give me your broccoli salad recipe.
