I walked out of our hotel and there was snow on the car. It was the heavy wet stuff, so it was easy to get off the car. We loaded up and left at 8:45.
There was fresh snow on the side of the roads and it was cloudy as we headed down the road. We had to slow down off and on because it started snowing and visibility was bad. Roads weren’t that great either. For 72 miles we fought every type of bad weather; snow, rain, hail and sleet sort of a Costco assortment. We finally came upon a snow plow going the opposite way. The road finally started to get better. And we thought we were done with the winter roads.
Around 11:15 we stopped at Buffalo Inn for a meal. The waitress were so wonderful in there. It was a great stop. We left around noon.
We lost another hour when we entered Alberta. After we left Beaver Lodge we hit the 4 lane divided highway. I guess the small roads and little traffic are now over. We stopped in Gunn to gas up again and headed to Edmonton. We decided to drive to through and stay past the airport in Leduc where we found a Travel Lodge for the night.
The most important thing today is the 3 years ago today I met David.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds like you’re having a very interesting trip! I’d rather deal with hot weather than cold!
