David has lived in Alaska all his life and in Anchorage since 1961, so there were a lot of good byes that had to be said.
It started Tuesday, we had dinner with David’s brothers and their wives. It was a lot of fun. I love to listen to the brothers talking about growing up. Lot of hugs and promises to come see us we said bye.
On Saturday was his last concert with Anchorage Concert Chorus.

David has sung bass for the chorus 27 years. The last concert was the best one I have heard I believe. After some of us went out for a drink and food. We did not get home until 1. It was so nice to get to say good-bye to them.
On Tuesday, Gary, the GM of Midnight Sun hosted a farewell dinner for us in the loft. The brewery tour team, Gary, Tom and David and their wives, Kim, Phyllis and me, shared an array of food, dusty bottles of beer, some without labels adding a little mystery, and lots of laughs and love.
On Wednesday for the last 19 1/2 years David had a radio show called the Blues Edge on our university station. Grey Beard packed up his CD’s and said farewell to KRUA 88.1FM at the University of Alaska Anchorage. The last CD he played was Cream’s Goodbye.
The Principal’s Office is on before the Blue’s Edge. David was being interviewed for having the longest running show.

David began his last 2 hour show.
After the show it was off to David’s niece’s house to say bye to her family.
Thursday night was David’s last time to be a tour guide at Midnight Sun Brewery. He has been volunteering for 7 years.
After the tour was time for photos with the peeing salmon. We had friends from the Chorus there.
And their family.

Then there was our friend Andy.
Then it was time for photos with the tour guides and family.
We then ate dinner upstairs in the loft. They have great food.

After lots of hugs and some tears we said farewell.
Last but not least was another niece and her family. Last night we all went to see Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. Our newspaper only gave it 2 stars. We believe they were wrong. We all loved it.

We just want to say one more time how much we will miss all our friends and family here. Thank you for being such a huge part of our lives.
Thanks for stopping by!
