Building a Birdhouse

I joined this kit of the month club from Annie’s Kit Clubs.

I had already finish a crocheted afghan block of the month club. You got 3 blocks a month to crochet. Everything is included each month. It was a lot of fun learning new stitches and remembering ones I have used before.

I decided I would try the Quilting one. I have got several months worth but when I am sewing I am making masks. I only did the first one which was purses I made for the girls birthdays.

Then they offered the Creative Woman’s Kit of the Month club. The first thing I got was everything to build a birdhouse. I take it back, it didn’t have the glue but everything else was there including the paint.

The instructions are very easy to read and understand. The first thing was to mark where the door and windows would go.

Next I painted all the white leaving the places for door and windows unpainted.

Next was painting where the door and windows go black.

Then I had to paint the roofing to make it look like shingles. You added water to the brown paint to thin it out and make it look more like stain.

I started nailing and gluing it together.

When I finished it I had added a little detail; like the paint on the eves and around the door.

It turned out pretty cute. I want to make a bigger one and maybe add more detail. This project was really fun.
