Our little backyard haven is where we spend a lot of time. We might be out exploring now but have made the choice to stay safe at home. we have been having a good time there.
I work in the garden. I am so happy it is actually growing. I bought this cool seed sprouter from Amazon. I bought it to sprout alfalfa seeds but it worked great to sprout all the seeds for the garden.
Look how my garden grows.
David got his fire pit he wanted and got some brush burned.
We love watching the animals, ducks, birds, squirrels, and rabbits, in the backyard.
I have been working on my crafts. That is before my thumb surgery.
I finished carving and painting my David Gnome. Anyone that knows David knows he has a yellow house hat and if napping will pull it over his eyes. He also wears it to bed at night and keeps his eyes covered.
I got my basswood here.
Here is a good carving set to get.
Here is an example.
My next project is going to be a turtle carved from a wooden egg.

I found the pattern in this book.
Everyone knows I love to upcycle. I always look at things, then think of other things I can make with them. As I was looking for the recycle marking on a empty Unstoppable bottle I thought birdfeeder.

I then cut several feeding holes in the bottle and placed bamboo skewers through the bottle for perches. I also had a plastic lid from some yogurt container.

I used clear Gorilla glue.
Then I decided to paint it with some glass paint.

It worked great until the squirrels chewed through the twine. I will figure out something else to hang it up with.
I was determined to get my dresser finished before my surgery.
The postcards are from my 3 month trip to England after my second husband passed. I distributed his ashes several places with my brother in law, Gary.
I have been enjoying my sun tea.
I bought this so can I try making flavored tea like you get in restaurants.
We even got to enjoy a beautiful rainbow.
Thanks for stopping by!
You are so crafty and talented! I’d cut a finger off trying to carve a wooden egg, lol! I love the bird feeder idea!
Believe me I have cut myself plenty of times.
Oh no! I’d rather stick with safe crafts like Diamond Art, lol! I used to get injured just making jewelry 🤣🤣 Even with Diamond Art, can’t sit there for too long, neck starts hurting. Getting old is not for wussies, right?! 😁
I know what you mean. I just wish my mind would age as fast as my body. 😊
