Three Inches of Snow, NOT!

I have been waiting for this storm that was supposed to hit last night.  Three inches of snow they said and I am still waiting 24 hours later.  We still don’t have any snow and it is warming up.  I can say though the sunset was beautiful.

These are all taken off my back deck.

It is 37 degrees, 5:30 at night and dark that is Alaska for you.  It is so much warmer than I can remember in a long time.

What is it like where you live?

Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween with Twins

I know that you probably get tired of looking at photos of my beautiful granddaughters but here I go again.  Oh yea, all my kids, well except the oldest, will be home for Christmas that means photos of more grandchildren so look out.

This was the girls first Halloween.  I had to go out to the kids house to babysit, so Heather decided I should stay to take the girls out for their first Halloween.  They are getting so big.

While babysitting the girls showed me how good they can make their bouncers go.

Before costumes Grandma decided to give them their first bath in the big tub.  They really enjoyed this.IMG_20181031_113416

Then it was time for me to get their costumes on Continue reading “Halloween with Twins”

A Day That Won’t Be Forgotten

Saturday, October 20th, was our second anniversary.  David tells me last week, “I have a 3 day weekend. Do you want to go camping for our anniversary? ” I reply, “Hell Yes!”  Please excuse my language but I was that excited.

We usually have snow by now and the camping is over for the year.  The weather has been so nice we decided to head out.  David wanted to talk to a blacksmith in Palmer about a fire tool he wanted him to make.  We found his place but he was gone for the day.  We decided to drive around to look for some place to have a nice dinner on Saturday night. 41 Pounds of Apples and Counting

David came home with 3 1/2 5 gallon buckets of apples that he picked off a tree that was standing in one of his students front yard.  David is a special education school bus driver. It took him 10 hours to cut and core them all.  He put 3 kitchen garbage bags of apple slices in the freezer.  I had to decide what to do with them. Read on to find out what I do with them. A monster does not deserve the intimacy of a name

As if waking up in an unfamiliar world isn’t enough of a surprise, Ember gains a new title to her name. Savior.

Hunted by the Crescent Prince and his lethal shadows, she accepts a young Mage’s help to navigate the land of blood magic and its many illusions. But where Ada sees the good in her power, Ember discovers something else.

An icy darkness, designed to take lives, not save them.

The only thing worse than not being able to rely on her senses—or the reality she had once believed to be true—is knowing that she cannot trust her heart. Especially as it seems to draw her to the one person in whose hands she can never fall…

Will Ember escape the thrall of darkness or will she reign in it?

The world has divided into 3 different world’s.  In each world there is a different kind magic. The void is eating the worlds and they need to be combined again.  Only one person can save them and that is the Savior.

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series.  I read this on Net Galley.  You should check them out if you love to read.  You will get to read books that are not released yet.

Has anybody else read this book?

They are Always Your Baby

My oldest son has been going through a hard time lately.  I called him and had been drinking.  Of course, that may him tell me how he was feeling like no one cared about him.  Well that scared me so I caught a ride with a friend down to his house in Sterling on the Kenai Peninsula.   Continue reading “They are Always Your Baby”

Flat Ole Hippies in Gig Harbor

We got to go with our friend to Gig Harbor to take care of her daughter after her foot surgery.DSC_0582

Sarah still has to go for 3 more weeks in her cast with no weight bearing.

Cindy had to do the cooking and cleaning which her son loved because he didn’t have to do it.DSC_0583

We didn’t get to take a picture with her son in law, Steve, because he was gone to work.  Cade was taking his Mom to the airport after she got the kids off to school.

Brodie, Willow and Meadow are such cute and fun kids as you can tell in this last picture.DSC_0586

It was so much fun getting to know some more of Cindy’s family.

We had a great time in Gig Harbor on the Key Peninsula.  Thanks for taking us.
