So how was your Sunday? Mine was wonderful. We went to church this morning. After church we went to visit my friend, Trevor, at the hospital. She is the one I told you about in an earlier blog when she went to the ER and got admitted to the hospital. If you have been following along with my story you will remember that I promised to finish her baby blankets and burp rags. This just meant a bunch of straight lines. I can whip that up in no time. I tell Trevor we have to head home so I can sew for her.
I wanted a sewing machine for Christmas two years ago. I was going to start quilting. David got me a very nice one and then for my birthday bought me a sewing table. I was set, except I didn’t think about two knees being replaced and my back getting fused. Anyway I get home, go grab my machine realizing that I have not used it yet. Well that is no big deal all machines thread pretty much the same. Why would I need to read instructions? I have it threaded now and one of Trevor’s bobbins in the machine. I get the burp rag under the foot. I am all ready to give the new sewing machine a spin. I put my foot gently on the foot pedal and push. Off I go! Yeah! No wait why is it going so slow? I have the pedal to the metal. It should be really pumping that needle up and down. Ok well I can live with this for now. I just want to get this sewing done. Then I run out of bobbin. I went to make a new one and had to get the instructions out. Got that taken care of back to work I go. Then I notice that the machine says quilting machine. I am now wondering if that is why it goes so slow. Now I think I will break down and watch the DVD that came with it. I did get all the sewing done.
I bet you have been reading this wondering what does this got to do with Star Wars let alone flannel. Well if you want to sit a while longer I will tell you. The blankets were two pieces of Star Wars flannel sewed together which was really cute. Then to make the burp rags she had taken pre-folded diapers on one side she sewed the Star Wars flannel material. I thought that was a great idea. She was making them to take with her to Vegas to meet her new-born grandson. She is supposed to go on Tuesday. We will pray she is well enough to go.
Well I guess it is time to say good-nite.
