Cowans Gap State Park

Our first camping trip took us to Cowans Gap.  It was a great trip.  The grandkids had fun and so did the adults.  I am not sure if the kids wore out the parents or if it was the other way around.  While the parents were busy with the kids, Grandpa and Oma, had a nice relaxing time walking around the lake, reading, and take photos.

We headed out as soon as the girls got home from school.  They had Friday and Monday off, so we had a nice long weekend.

Hanging with the Granddaughters

Sorry I have been gone for a while but I am still recovering from my thumb surgery.  I have finally got my cast off and have been wearing a splint.  I go to therapy twice a week but I should be all done by the end of this month.  It is getting a lot better.

Anyway we have been spending a lot of time with the granddaughters.  They love to play in our backyard which has turned into Oma’s Little Tyke Playground.  They love their pool too.  They really like it when Oma makes bubbles in the pool.

The Last Few Days

I have been babysitting my twin granddaughters, Becca and Kate, for the last few days.  I love getting to do this.  They are 9 months old now.  They are totally different.  I love watching as they get their own personalities.  It is so wonderful to see the ways they are to be able to watch as they learn new things.  To see the little smiles on their faces just melts my heart, so yes I am going to show you more photos that I took of them.

Flat Ole Hippies in Gig Harbor

We got to go with our friend to Gig Harbor to take care of her daughter after her foot surgery.DSC_0582

Sarah still has to go for 3 more weeks in her cast with no weight bearing.

Cindy had to do the cooking and cleaning which her son loved because he didn’t have to do it.DSC_0583

We didn’t get to take a picture with her son in law, Steve, because he was gone to work.  Cade was taking his Mom to the airport after she got the kids off to school.

Brodie, Willow and Meadow are such cute and fun kids as you can tell in this last picture.DSC_0586

It was so much fun getting to know some more of Cindy’s family.

We had a great time in Gig Harbor on the Key Peninsula.  Thanks for taking us.

Flat Ole Hippies Go to the Kenai Peninsula

We went on another road trip with our friends to Sterling and Soldotna with our friends. DSC_0708

We went to visit their son Jared in Sterling.  Boy does he look like a real mountain man living in the woods with his wife.  They even live in a log cabin.

We got to go to the Kenai River too.  There were people fishing but we didn’t see any fish.

Then we met Brodie who is one of their granddaughters.  She was visiting from Washington with her mom, Tiffany.

Brodie even shared her cotton candy with us.

It was a lot of fun visiting Soldotna and Sterling.  Can’t wait to see where we go next.
