Flat Ole Hippies Go Camping

Our friends took us camping at Kings River outside of Sutton north of Anchorage, Alaska. We went in their camper.  It was a beautiful weekend. It was sunny but not too hot. We sat by the campfire and went for walks. We enjoyed watching the river.

A good time was had by all.

Flat Ole Hippies First Camping Trip

Our friends asked if we wanted to go camping with them.  We agreed to go because we have never been before and it sounded fun.

The first place they took us was the Girdwood Forest Fair.  There people with flowers in their hair, people all dressed up and even pirates singing.  We thought this place was pretty cool.  As you follow the trails through the forest you will find all kind of booths.  There was really a lot of people though.

Then we stopped for a nice brew at Girdwood Brewery.

We found a nice place to camp by a pond. The camper was really comfortable and scenery was nice.

I got to play with the twins.  That was lot of fun.  They are really cute.

The next morning we packed up after breakfast.  This camping stuff is fun. I hope they invite us again.

We will say Good-Bye for now and hope to see you soon.

Flat Ole Hippies Do Geyser, Waterfall and Brewery

We set off with our friends this morning heading for the Golden Circle again.  It was rainy and very foggy.DSC_0019

David and Cindy actually knew where they were going because we ended up at the Geyser.

After we checked that out we went into the shop and we got to drive a tractor around the store.  That was pretty cool.

Next stop was Gullfoss Waterfall.  It was huge and fast.  It was the most amazing waterfall we had ever seen.

Our next stop was very disappointing to us.  It was Fontana Geothermal Baths and we were not allowed in.  They said we would fall apart if we went in the warm water. They even said our colors would run.  We did get to look at it though.

To make up for it though we got some nice beer at the brewery.

After that we were all pretty beat because we started off early this morning.  We can’t wait to see where they take us tomorrow.

Flat Ole Hippies in Iceland

Well we started off this morning with our friends.  We were not sure they knew where they were going but they said, “Sure we do.  We are going to the Golden Circle.”  We never saw a golden circle but we did have a good time.  We headed out on our road trip.  We saw beautiful waterfalls, great scenery, wonderful clouds and drove through a tunnel under a fjord.

When we got back to the apartment we found out that we never did get to the Golden Circle, but fun was had by all anyway.

We then decided to go to downtown Reykjavik and have a beer.

The bartenders were so pleasant that we left them a tip.  Then we all walked home discussing what we would do tomorrow.

Flat Ole Hippies Do Scotland

Our new friends have taken us to Scotland with them.  They took us everywhere they had gone.  They even had us spend time with their friends there.  We got to go to all over the highlands and see many new things.  We went to a distillery, brewery, beach and even a castle.  We even ate fish and chips, went for hikes in the woods, drove heavy equipment and hung out with Sam. We went to this really strange place where there were socks and other clothing hanging all over the trees.  We got to spend David’s 69th birthday with him and toasted him with whiskey.  We have to make this a short one because we are heading to Iceland with our friends, after saying goodbye to our new friends.

I hope you enjoy the photos.  Off to Iceland now.

Flat Ole Hippies Do England

This nice couple, Cindy and David, are so much fun.  They take us everywhere with them. We went to The Four Thieves and had a beer with them.

We got to ride the underground.  It was a really big train.

We went to Swiss Cottage where we had a beer and fish and chips.  We hung out by the taps and our friends David and Gary.

We got to go to Chester on a train.  It was a lot of fun. To our surprise our new friends found yet another brewery pub called Brewery & Kitchen.  We had a nice beer there with a good head.

Then back on the train to go to Bebington which we were told was on the Wirral.  We were really tired and kind of slept through those few days.  We did get up to ride the ferry to Liverpool.

We got to go to The Cavern but I didn’t see the Beatles.

Back on the train we went to head back to London.  We were told we were flying to Scotland next.
