Brewery Hopping

David had to take me to Hershey, PA for my last doctor appointment on my left thumb.  After surgery, a cast for 5 weeks, a brace and 6 weeks of therapy I have been released to go out and cause trouble.  To celebrate we decided to check out a few breweries in town.

First stop was Rotunda brewery and it was lunch time.  We were starving by this time, so perfect place for lunch.

We were told that because of Covid-19 you have to buy food with your beer. I guess it is to keep people from over crowding or maybe because if you have to eat something you won’t stay as long which will allow more people a chance to come in.  Anyway we didn’t care we were ready for lunch.  Since we did plan to hit a couple of more places decided to eat small.

It was nice inside and the beer was good.

The food was nice.  I had deviled eggs which were great.  David thought he would go with the pretzel.  I don’t believe it went with the small taste he was hoping for.

We said good bye to Rotunda Brew Pub; we did find out that the owners last name is Rotunda.

Caribbean Food

Today before John Lee went to work he said he needed to go to Bongos Café to talk to the owner about a gig for the Seattle Houserockers. He said we could have lunch there. So off we went.

In the summer they have the outside open. This is where the Houserockers play. You can sit with your feet in the sand while you listen to music.

Wondering Around Greenwood

Our first day in Greenwood which is in North Central Seattle John and Nancy had to go to work. David and I decided to go for a walk.

Just a nice looking bug.

We decided to go eat at a Turkish restaurant that we had gone to before. To our surprise it is now a Thai Restaurant.

Hitting it Hard!

We are getting closer to home and are now just wanting to get there. We want to try to make it to Beaver Creek, the last town before the border, today.

We left Dease Lake around 8:30 and you won’t believe what we saw to start our day off with a little wildlife.

Lunch with Friends

We were going to go visit our friend, Dawn, but we couldn’t see her until after she got off from work.

Nancy had a dental appointment which went a lot faster than she thought if was going too. She picked up our Mariner tickets for the next night and headed home from downtown Seattle. She was back in time to go to lunch with the rest of us.

Oldest Deli in Texas and Texas Bucket List

Finally the inspector came to inspect the house. There were no major problems, so we decided to go out to eat to celebrate. I was talking to my sister about the inspection and mentioned to her that we were going out. She suggested a few places that we both remembered.

Keto Day 3

Well sorry but it was Wednesday which means I had the twins.  Katharine is the bigger one and Rebecca is the younger one by 28 minutes.  They were 7 weeks early but only had to stay in the hospital for a month.  Anyway we are quite the proud grandparents.  Of course, we have many others too.  These two are our 11th and 12th.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.

Anyway back to the diet.  As I said earlier I had an early doctor’s appointment.  We did not eat until we got home, so I just made us some protein shakes.  The boys took off to a job and I started getting ready for the twins.

For lunch I had a Skyr, which is Iceland’s idea of yogurt, which is really good.  I had some pork rinds too.  Supper was a hamburger patty with bacon and cheese. Broccoli fried in bacon grease along with more bacon.  It was a nice quick dinner.

I have been staying under on the calories but having a little more trouble with the other things.  I haven’t been getting all the fat that I can have. I have been kind of bouncing back and forth on the protein. I was trying to stay at 25 carbs but I always seem to go over but have managed to stay under the 50 carbs.  I think it is easy trying to keep track of all this.  So far I have been doing fine on the new life style.

Ole Flat Hippies Do Italy

The Church Palace was a lot of fun. The food was good and the drink was better. We rode a lion and took a selfie in front of artwork called selfie.  The bed was nice too.

These people that brought us along with them are really cool.  They took us everywhere.  We got to go to the Vatican Museum.

We had some great pasta for dinner.

We went to the forum which was very old.  We met a seagull with her two babies. We checked out a well too.

We hung out with the Ron

Then we headed to the colosseum.  They said many animals, slaves and Christians were killed there.  I wonder what would happen to flat people like us.

We met some new friends when our carrying friends stopped for lunch.

We went to a concert at a Refuge camp.

We got to go out to lunch the next day.

Then we got to go to St Peter’s Basilica with the choir.

We next stayed in Montecatini and got to eat breakfast out in the garden.

There was even a huge lemon tree.

We then visited with John for a little bit.

We found a really cool phone.

The drinks all through Italy were great.  We tried many different things.

We had tons of different pastas.

We had a lot of white meat but we did have some fish that was very good.

The dessert were out of this world.

We rode on a gondola, saw many rivers, were put in prison, the bridges were cool and sang many times with the chorus.

Italy was really fun.  We met many new friends and saw many new things.  The people  who took us with them were great.  They never left us behind or stuck us in a bag where we could not see.  They fed us good food and drink.  I am glad they have decided to take us with them everywhere.

Take Care,

The Flat Ole Hippies

Great Hotel Bristol

We had our final lunch together at the Great Hotel Bristol.  It was just an amazing place.
The Grand Hotel Bristol enjoys a magnificent location on the lakeshore of Stresa, a true pearl of Lake Maggiore, famous all over the world for the extraordinary way the beautiful landscape merges with the sumptuous dwellings scattered throughout it. Hotel guests can enjoy a privileged view of Isola Bella and the Borromeo Gulf. The prestigious building that is now the Grand Hotel in Stresa was originally a noble residence, and careful renovation work has allowed it to retain its elegance while enhancing it with modern conveniences. The Zacchera family’s traditional dedication to hospitality at the highest level completes the features that make the Grand Hotel Bristol an ideal place for relaxing and discovering the beauty of Lake Maggiore.

We had the most amazing meal.

The meal was served by finely dressed waiters and waitresses.  Of course, this was the best meal we had the whole trip.  We were all very impressed. There was wine and water on the table.

After the meal was served and eaten we were served champagne.  Grant toasted and thanked everyone.  Sean and Roland stood up and said something. We then drank our champagne.  Our table noticed that there was open bottles of champagne that the waiters were seeming to take away.  We all told them we will drink that so you don’t have to through it away.  So we made the sacrifice and drank some of the open bottles for them.

We then all thanked our guides Liz and Luigi.  Classical Movements furnished our dessert.  This cake was carried out by two waiters and about 4 feet in diameter. It was really fabulous.

After enjoying our dessert we walked back to our bus to head back to Milan.
