Seberg

The other night it was my turn to pick the movie. I picked Seberg from Amazon Prime. I usually do something while I am watching TV but once this started I had to put everything down and give the movie my full attention.

Jean Seberg a girl from Iowa who became a movie star. Her first movie was St Joan about Joan of Arc. She was burned at the stake and actually caught on fire. She spent half her life in Paris, France where her acting really took off. Then in 1968 she came back to the US to act in some movies, including “Paint Your Wagon”.

I am not going to go into this too much because I don’t want to ruin the movie for you but the this movie is about how Hoover’s FBI ruined her life. To learn more about her you can read these about her here.

Kristen Stewart played this part so well. I highly recommend this movie. If you watch it let me know what you thought.

Movies

David and I always have enjoyed going to the movies. Now with Covid-19 the movie theaters are closed we have started streaming. Amazon Prime Video is letting you rent or buy theater movies. We were excited about this.

After I rented several movies which you have a month before you start to watch them. Once you have started watching them you have 48 hours to watch all of it.

Every night David and I take turns picking a movie. I picked Downton Abbey. I was not sure if David would like it but he was very impressed. I have enjoyed the TV series.

Downton Abbey is the story of the Crawleys and their staff as they prepared for the royal visit from the King and Queen.

It was superb in every respect. Writing was excellent with great lines from different characters. The costuming and sets were great. You should check out all the hats. The cinematography was excellent. We enjoyed the story and highly recommend this movie.

Wish Me Luck

When I moved to England I knew about WWII, that is what we are taught in school. Then I started to meet people over there. I met a lot of older people who were either children, fought or worked in the shipyards during the war. After listening to their stories of bombs falling, going to shelters and carrying and using their gas masks WWII came a lot closer to home.

I have been reading all kinds of books and watch different shows. Right now I am watching Wish Me Luck. It is about women who were spies during WWII in France. It is so surprising what they did do. It tells of love and love lost. How they try not to get to attached to people but that isn’t easy. They lose friends and family, yet make new ones.

I have already watched the first and second seasons of the series. My husband is even hooked on it. It is nice when we can watch something like this together and talk about it after.

Our last season to watch. Not sure if there will ever be any more or not.

This series is free on Amazon Prime Video. I highly recommend this series if you are into WWII shows. It tells you of the danger these British people went through to save the French from the horrors of the Nazis.

Let me know if you have watched it or plan to watch it. Then let me know what you think about it.

Cast Long Shadows

Cast Long Shadows (Ghosts of the Shadow Market, #2)Cast Long Shadows by Cassandra Clare

I enjoyed it. You had to read the Shadowhunter series to know who they were talking about but it sucked my right back in. The whole series came rushing back. I had a hard time putting it down. It was short and made you want more.
