Our Backyard During Covid-19

Our little backyard haven is where we spend a lot of time. We might be out exploring now but have made the choice to stay safe at home. we have been having a good time there.

I work in the garden. I am so happy it is actually growing. I bought this cool seed sprouter from Amazon. I bought it to sprout alfalfa seeds but it worked great to sprout all the seeds for the garden.

U District on the Av

John Lee was off on Thursday so we headed to the University District in Seattle on the Avenue.

Last time we visited John and Nancy he took us to an Indian Buffett. Chili’s South Indian Cuisine has one of the best Indian buffets I have ever been too. The price is great too, $14 after tax. You can check them out here.

Of course, I didn’t bring my camera like an idiot so no photos. Well I guess I could of taken them with my phone but I was to busy feeding my face.

When I waddled out of Chili’s we headed to Bulldog News. John Lee was looking for a magazine. Bulldog News is one of the few news stands left around.

There is a baker that does have gluten free goodies. You have to get a coffee from Nathaniel who is the longest serving barista in the country. He makes great coffee too!

Another one of John’s favorite places in Tea Republik. This guy makes some of the best blends and more different teas than I have ever seen.

NO COFFEE HERE!

After John’s nap at Tea Republik we headed home.

We had a great time wondering around the Av in the U district. John always find the best hole in the wall places. We keep telling him he needs to start being a tour guide for foodies.

Well thanks for stopping by!

Wondering Around Greenwood

Our first day in Greenwood which is in North Central Seattle John and Nancy had to go to work. David and I decided to go for a walk.

Just a nice looking bug.

We decided to go eat at a Turkish restaurant that we had gone to before. To our surprise it is now a Thai Restaurant.

Leaving Them Behind

David and I left everyone behind as we headed out to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We had to get to Costco to pick up my Cymbalta. We figured we could get there and pick it up, then meet the rest of our caravan on Highway 90.

As we were getting back on the highway from the hotel I could see the Missouri River. We were well on our way by 7:40.

Japanese Infusion

The students studying Japanese at UAA, University of Alaska Anchorage, had an afternoon of Japanese food, green tea, Pikachu, Tai Chai and other activities to try or watch.

Being that my husband, David’s, Dad spent the first 11 years of his life in Japan because his parents were missionaries there., so David has always been interested in Japanese things. They even started a food co-op which the last we heard was still going.

Food, Baseball and Black Eyes

We were going to spend the day exploring downtown Seattle with John Lee before we headed to the Mariner’s game. That is the one thing that David was hoping to do while we were here.

As I had mentioned before John Lee finds the best hole in the wall places to eat. He didn’t let us down this time either. He took us out for some great
